“Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential.” (ICF)
A coach will not tell you all the answers or provide you with career or other ‘advice’. A coach will work with you to help you find your own thoughts and solutions.
Being coached means being open to change; this may include altering the way you see a situation, reviewing and unlocking any limiting beliefs or taking new actions. Your part in the process is to think big, re-look at any assumptions, set inspiring goals and take action to make them happen.
One of the greatest benefits of having a coach is to feel really listened to and to have confidential, focused time just for YOU (which is often a rarity in busy lives). This alone can have a powerful and positive impact on your decisions and wellbeing – so much so, that if I ruled the world, I would ensure that everyone had a coach! Just think how much more productive we would be, not to mention how much better we’d all feel.
